format_list_bulletedAbout this section add remove
The knee joint is a hinge type synovial joint, allowing for flexion and extension, and is formed by articulations between the patella, femur, and tibia. The bones of the leg are the fibula and tibia.
Knee osteoarthritis is the most common type of osteoarthritis, therefore is an important topic for all surgical trainees to be aware of. However, knee ligament injuries (both collaterals and cruciates) also form common injury presentations seen across, which can often be diagnosed from examination alone.
