Fortunately, the large majority of breast lumps (especially in younger women) is benign disease. These can be benign tumours, such as fibroadenomas or papillomas, or inflammatory disease, such as breast cyst or mammary duct ectasia. For most of these conditions, the management is reassurance or conservative.
