Functional Neurosurgery
format_list_bulletedAbout this section add remove
The use of deep brain stimulation and epilepsy surgery falls under the category of functional neurosurgery. Many of these conditions requiring such techniques are often not primarily neurosurgical however they have reached the end of the medical management available, therefore neurosurgical interventions are required. Whilst techniques develop, mainly becoming safer and less invasive, they often remain underused interventions.
